SEC to Amend Statutory Provisions
The Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka in planning to bring more amendments to the Securities & Exchange Control Act in line with the current developments.
SEC has already published Consultation Paper 10, 11, & 12 with a view to obtain the public opinion on the proposed amendments to the SEC Act.
Consultation Paper 10 proposes introducing a range of administrative and civil enforcement powers to deal with capital market offenses. Consultation Paper 11 seeks to introduce a legal framework on the offering of unlisted corporate bonds by way of private placement in the SEC Act while the paper 12 aims to align SEC’s governance and international co-operation framework with IOSCO’s Objectives and Principles of Securities Regulation.
All of these 03 papers are available on the SEC website and the interested public are requested to make comments on the proposed amendments.










Good move. SEC need to catch all these CSE racketeers.
